Dover AFB
Dover Air Force Base is located in the “First State” at the center of the Delmarva – Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia – Peninsula. Dover AFB is home to the Department of Defense’s largest aerial port and approximately 11,000 Airmen and joint service members, civilians, and families. Its personnel are responsible for global airlift aboard assigned C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. Additionally, the 436th Airlift Wing hosts key partners, such as the Air Force Reserve’s 512th Airlift Wing, Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO), the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System (AFMES) and the Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED), jointly responsible for the dignified return of fallen American service members.
Fire stations at Airforce bases are no different in the challenges they face in tracking and servicing their equipment—inclusive of their Bunker Gear. Dover Airforce Base recently deployed the Silent Partner IntelliView solution to help improve their overall efficiency and visibility. They’ll be tracking their Equipment with Silent Partners RFID technology, and taking it a step further by RFID tagging and their Bunker Gear as well. Furthermore, they’ll now have far better visibility not just by knowing where their Equipment and Bunker Gear are—but also who has it with the use of the Silent Partner’s Check in/Check out module. Lastly, they had a need to track all services for key assets—as such they’ll also be using the Service module to track all services for each and every piece of equipment from the time the equipment was bought till it’s retired.
