Established by Steven D. Lamb in 1984, Crystal Tractor and Equipment is based in Homosassa, Florida. Steve started with an aim to bring unbeatable services to his customers in various locations throughout Florida. They provide top-notch services and sales for Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Harley-Davidson, Mahindra, and Kubota agriculture and construction equipment. Crystal Tractor and Equipment are present in twelve locations across Florida. With all of these remote locations it can be very difficult and time consuming to keep a timely and accurate inventory—enter Silent Partner Technologies.

Prior to RFID, barcode was a fantastic solution for taking inventory and in some cases its’ still an excellent solution. However, given the environment (outdoors, and an industrial environment) clearly the right solution was RFID. Not only is it dramatically faster, but its’ also far more reliable. Imagine trying to read a barcode which is dirty, or the sun is blinding the scanner, or where half of the barcode is missing, etc. Well, the beauty of RFID is none of the aforementioned short comings of barcode transfer over to RFID. With RFID it doesn’t matter if the sun is bright or for that matter it doesn’t matter if its’ night time, or if the tag is dirty—we read right through the Dirt, very similar to a Toll Pass reading a vehicle tag in a rainy day at 60 miles per hour! In Crystal Tractors case we’re reading their tags anywhere from 10 to 20 feet—and we can go further if necessary! This solution has dramatically improved Crystal Tractors processes, so much so that they’re rolling out the solution to all of their locations.
